September is up and looking great

Hey Everyone.

Sorry the posts here have been a bit neglected.  Now that the website is up and running with the forum and gallery (with some teething problems that need sorting) and getting September classes finished and posted the blog has taken a back seat.

The actually website was my dream for SoF to have a place where people could post and chat.  and all the class information and ordering would be up all in one place.

Now that that has happened and with also homeschooling kids & running a business to feed the family, I have to honestly say that I don't have the stamina or the money to keep the blog and the site going together.

So at the end of this week the blog account will be suspended and I wont be able to post anymore.

And for everyone that has so graciously linked the SoF Blog to your blog could you please change your links to the website so that we are sending people to the right place.

Little Updates

The website dramas with our old provider got to hard to deal with so I canceled their service and signed up with a new one.  So praying that that works out :)

Cass from Scrap Pile has ordered in more tins so if anyone needs one she has them in stock.

Nothing "exciting" the last couple of days, DH is away and as usual I get the cleaning bug when he is gone LOL.  I should be creating projects as Sept is soooo close, yet here I am cleaning LOL.  So had best get stuck into September's theme of Being a Good Steward.  Nat emailed me her instructions and they are great!!!  So looking forward to putting her class up on the 1st of September.   Have a great Sunday everyone :)  Blessings to you all and so looking forward to the class on Wednesday :)

PRAYER REQUEST.

Again please play for little Rani Millar, she has become a lot worse this last week and she & her family need all the support and prayers we can give her.  Rani's mum Mel is a beautiful person who has been an active member in the Aussie scrapping community & through all her hardships and suffering with Rani, still finds the brighter side of life and offers words of encouragement and support for others.  Please pray for healing and strength for them.

More Good News!!!!

We have people signed up for the next Sat tin class so if you are thinking about it you won't be lonely in class LOL.

And a big announcement our new DT member who I can finally announce is ROZ JAMES!!!! YEAHHHH.  So we have the 2 most gorgeous gals Nat & Roz to inspire us with their beautiful creations.  I have seen Nat's Sept Layout and you girls are going to love it.  I am just so thrilled to have these girls on board!!

And I just want to say a big thank you to everyone who drops by and says "hi" and sends an encouraging email.  All of you are wonderful blessings who bring me so much joy.  Some days I feel I am just loosing the plot because web programming wont happen how it should, or the service provider doesn't put changes through etc etc, but then I get some encouraging words, some bible passage and it's all good.  So we have a web page & forum partly running but no way you can get to it thanks to our provider.  So prayers that this all happens. 

And our thoughts & prayers for Karen who is in Brisbane today with Chloe.  Lets keep praying that it is good news and not a scary outcome.

Class Change

I have decided that the 23rd August Tin Class will now be run on the 30th of August.  That way if people only come across this class now they have a chance to do the online component this month :)

So remember if you want to do a class just email me at sallyc@ads-qs.com.au and I will send you payment details.  All class instructions are emailed the day payment clears!!  You pay $10 for the class kit & we give $5 to charity!!

Website is almost up and running.  I thought Friday afternoon we were ready to launch it but we have had a few little problems with it looks fine on my screen, but when Mark goes to the site on his machine the pictures don't line up etc.  So just trying to iron out some little problems.  So keep praying that God gives us direction to get it all working :)

TIN TAKE TWO :-)

Okay I have done up another version of the Fruits of the Spirit TIn.  This is a really funky vibrant couloured tin in contrast to the heritage colours of the other tin.

So there are still spaces left for this Sat 19th & Next Wed 23rd. Classes are $10 with $5 going to charity.  As soon as your funds clear we email out to you the full set of intructions and materials list.  No waiting 1hr just before or the day before the class starts to find out what's going on.  Comments from the LO class just gone is that the instructions are so comprehensive that it really doesn't matter if you miss the online part.  Of course we would love to have you come to the class for the fellowship, but if you like the project and are worried that your schedule won't allow you to make the online component don't worry because our instructions are designed for easy use without having to attend the class.  Each step has a photo so you know exactly what's going on :)  People who attended the Wednesday class said that they were able to prepare before hand given the ample time and due to that and the relaxed nature of the class, were not feeling pushed or lost.  & we finished in the 2hrs :)

So come join the fun & help us raise as much as we can to get as many kids as we can to Splashout Camp run by Scripture Union!!

We had Mel, Karen, Lara & Nat in for our first class & we had a great time.  They did some beautiful creations which I have put in the album & I am so looking forward to the tin class this Saturday Night :)

PRAYER REQUEST

One of the beautiful ladies that stops by and says "hi" and has been a great supporter of SoF asked me today if I would pray for her daughter Chloe.  I'll use Karen's words to explain it.

Just thought I would also  give you a prayer point if you would like to pray for me.  My 15year old daughter Chloe has tremors throughout her body.  I took her to the doctors a couple of weeks ago about it cause I was concerned.  My GP felt that she should see a neurologist and tried to contact one in Brisbane.  Anyway she got hold of him yesterday, now normally when you live up here it can take you 3-6 months to get in and see a specialist, well he wants to see  her in Brisbane pretty much straight away.  Sort of a bit freaky, and initially put me in panic mode, but have met with my GP again this afternoon to get all the paper work and make the appointments.  We are flying down next Tuesday and she has to be at The Prince Charles hospital  in the Cardio Investigation Unit  at 5pm.  So I would value your prayers for her ( and me too) that they will be able to find out what the problem is and that it will not be too serious.  I know that God has his hand in it all, but knowing and trusting sometimes are two different things.

So please keep Chloe & Karen in your thoughts and prayers.

YEAH AN UPDATE!!!!

WE'RE STILL HERE!!!!! :)

I know the site hasn't been too exciting this week, but exciting things have been happening behind the scenes!!!  Which one do I start with first!!!???

- We have a sister site "Scrap Pile".  The wonderful Cassandra has teamed up with Scrap of Faith to bring more service to you.  Each month I will supply Cass with the product list for each class and she will put together class kits for us.  That way you can buy the full kit from Cass and not have to go hunting for the supplies.  She will be selling them to SoF customers at 10% off RRP.  I have checked Scrap Pile out and their prices are already really competitive so this is a great deal.  Due to wholesaler restrictions etc I actually have to have the classes planed a month in advanced for Cass to make sure she has enough stock on hand for us.  So we can't have the kits up for September but will have them ready to go for October.  That means right now we're having to plan September and October classes together!!!  Big month!!!  And still hassle Mark for programming LOL!!  So to celebrate all people who purchase a class in September will be given a code to use in Scrap Pile to get 10% off their full order!!!!  Cass is a fantastic Gal and it would be great to give some support to a lady dedicated to helping Scrap of Faith.  By the way she's on the hunt for a DT team so if you want to work for an Online store run by a Christan go and put an application in now!!!

- First DT member confirmed!!! I have a few DT gals on board but before they confirm with me 100% I don't want to mention their names, but the one who I have confirmed and am very excited to tell you about is the beautiful Nat Mardon.  Not only does Nat do beautiful work, but she has been a constant support and source of ideas for Scrap of Faith.  I only met Nat through starting up the site, but her support and passion is just unreal that to not have her working on Scrap of Faith would be a tragedy for us all.  Once the forum is up and running Nat will be helping with setting challenges and moderating and just blessing us with her passion for Christ :)  Welcome Nat.  Poor Nat has been thrown in the deep end with helping to get up all the classes for Sept & Oct :)  Thanks Nat

- Goals I've set Mark the task of having the forum running first, then the gallery & finally the full site.  I think it's better that we can start to get our community happening through the forum, it can be linked off the blog, then the gallery & finally an easy ordering system for the classes.  So please pray that Mark finds the time and inspiration to get this happening quickly for us.

- Guest DT's For the months of Jan & Feb I will take a little holiday from classes as I will be having a bubby!! :)  We had our 20 wk scan and I'm proud to announce that we have boy number 3 in there!!!  The girls have taken the news very well.  I think because they are the eldest two they are feeling very special about being the 2 big girls with 3 little brothers.  I'm not sure how Mitchell would have taken the news if I came home and said "It's a girl".  At least the kiddy arguments have ceased.  Anyway back on track I will have the regular DT plus some guest DT doing the classes for that month.  I can confirm that Steph Caskey-Devlin will be guest designing for February!!!  Can you wait that long.  I was so thrilled when Steph offered her help.  She is a wonderful gal & with her Pink Locker Project to take care of, FK work etc & let's not forget a Mum to a gorgeous little girl, I was so blessed that she has time to help me and inspire you!!  Thanks Steph.

Thanks again to everybody for your support.  Oh and go check out 2peas I put a post on about it to try and get the US girls interested.  Christianity is not just an Australian thing ;-)  so if people could comment on the post to keep bumping it up that would be good.  The more we can make this place look cool the more they will be interested in coming for a look-see.

Class Updates :)

DON'T FORGET CLASSES AVAILABLE BELOW!!!!

Well the classes have started to sell  "Yeah kids we can help send you to camp!!"  So that is so encouraging for them and for Scrap of Faith, we can only reach more people from here on :)  Mark is busy figuring out HTML programing, Front Page etc to help me with the "Good Web Site" LOL.  I don't know about you guys but I am so excited about having a forum, gallery, shopping cart etc to make this run smoothly and so you guys can have some real participation to.  I wish it was on the go NOW!!!! 

Lusi asked this very legit Question: "Basic question...once we pay for a class, do we get a materials list too? I'm not sure where I can get the tin from up here?"

With all the projects there is a full product list of what I used for the project and also an "Alternate Product List"  Now the tin you have to have for this one, so I have listed 3 online stores it is available from and the Price they are selling them for, so if your LSS does not have one, you can get one online.  The tin class is at the end of the month so it gives you some time to source one.  If we experience delays and you guys can't get the tins before the second tin class is run, we'll just run the on-line part again at a later date so you don't miss out :)  So for the tin class there is a full instruction list with photos as you go & a full materials list.  I used 3 bugs tags and paper, but I have also listed that you could just as easily use Basic Grey or SEI to get the same outcome.  All products used have the photo next to them of what they look like in the shop so you can find them easily on line or at your LSS.

Also on the LO, this is a very easy LO :)  The photo needed is a 4*6inch Black and white of yourself & the journaling is just the names of the 9 fruits of the spirit.  If you wanted to journal what these mean to you you can do hidden journaling under the photo.  If you want to do that we can add that into the class super easy :)

As this is the first month those who do the classes & buy the kits could you please email me at the end of the month or when you've finished your project and let me know if there are things you would like improved.  I really want you to get your monies worth and be able to do a great project and it be an easy thing not a "pull your hair out experience".
